WHAT A ROLLERCOASTER RIDE

If you were to ask me if I would want a chance to redo 2023, I'm pretty sure you can already guess my answer. I belong to that group of individuals who approach each new year with a positive mindset, eagerly anticipating what it has in store for me. You might have come across my blog where I shared my journey of fighting to become optimistic. Well, let me tell you, my mindset remains unchanged. I continue to embrace each new day with enthusiasm, believing that it holds endless possibilities for both myself and those around me. My personal motto is simple yet powerful: "A positive mindset brings positive vibes."
But now, as we find ourselves in the month of December, nearing the end of the year, I can't help but reflect on everything that has transpired. And I can't help but exclaim, "Wow! I'm still standing!" Have you taken a moment to ponder this as well? Think about all the challenges and triumphs you've experienced throughout the year. Despite it all, here you are, still standing. Maybe your knees are trembling, or perhaps you're not standing as tall and strong as you'd like, but the fact remains that you're still here, persevering.
Take a moment to soak that in. How does it make you feel? This year has been a wild rollercoaster ride for me, filled with exhilarating highs and heart-wrenching lows. But through it all, I've managed to stay on my feet. And I believe you have too.
In this month, emotions run high as some experience immense joy while others endure deep pain. It is a season where cherished moments are shared with loved ones, yet for some, it is a time of longing for those who are no longer with us. As some embark on journeys and eagerly anticipate gifts and feasts, there are those who have little or nothing to celebrate. Christmas has always held a special place in my heart, not only because it allows me to reflect on the past year and plan for the future, but also because it reminds me that my plans are merely guides, and the true path lies in the hands of God. It is His will and His way! I also find myself contemplating the struggles faced by others during this time, and how I can lend a helping hand. Whether it be supporting companies that organize toy drives, food drives, or making donations to meaningful causes, simply because I believe in the power of collective compassion.
However, there is another aspect that I have also come to appreciate - the beauty of witnessing even the simplest moments in our daily lives. Today, I found myself sitting in the conference room at work as we exchanged gifts with one another. The sheer joy on everyone's faces was truly heartwarming to witness. Yet, amidst the festivities, I couldn't help but notice something remarkable. There were aspects about each and every person on the team that I hadn't noticed before - the little things that make them who they are. Their genuine smiles, their unwavering passion for their families, and even the way they spoke. The room was filled with an overwhelming sense of gratitude, and I couldn't help but immerse myself in it. Yes, this year may have been a rollercoaster ride for all of us, with each person having their own ups and downs. However, the joy that this season brings is simply unmatched.
Perhaps the headline of this blog caught your attention and you might have expected me to vent about something. But you know what I find fascinating about rollercoasters? As you whirl around, filled with fear, you start noticing things in a whole new light. Sometimes they appear blurry, and other times crystal clear. The ride itself is exhilarating, with no clue as to when it will come to a stop. Yet, you hold on for dear life, hoping that in the end, you'll make it through. Some people may disembark and exclaim, "That was amazing!" while others may feel queasy and vow to never ride again. However, regardless of the outcome, each of us takes away something unique that will stay with us forever. It could be a cherished memory for some, or valuable life lessons for others.
Perhaps this pause in your journey is an opportunity for introspection, a chance to reflect on the path you've taken and consider making some changes. Alternatively, you may choose to stay true to yourself or simply go with the flow, as my hubby often would say. Regardless, I hope that as this year comes to a close, you can find solace in the fact that you made it through while others may not have. Celebrate your accomplishments, no matter how big or small they may be. Embrace the little moments and appreciate today for what it is, because we never really know what comes next on this rollercoaster ride.
If this is a time of happiness and celebration for you, may you surround yourself with loved ones and may your homes be filled with laughter and joy. If, on the other hand, this is a challenging period for you, I hope you can find peace amidst your pain. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Above all, let us remember the true meaning of this season, which is the incredible gift we received in the form of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
Wishing you a joyful holiday season!
